Construction Information
Both Bender Photographic kits are constructed primarily by gluing and
clamping pre-cut pieces of kiln dried cherry together. All parts are cut to
precise size, with slots routed and most of the holes pre-drilled for you.
(Some holes we can not drill ahead of time and these you will do with a simple
hand drill - two different drill bits required: a 1/16" and a 3/32") There is
a fair amount of sanding involved and everyone spends a different amount of
time on this depending on how fine a finish you go for. There is also time
spent waiting for glue to dry. In all, expect it to take 25-30 hours
to complete. It is definitely not a one evening project.
Spare parts are available at reasonable prices if you happen to mess something
up or just want to re-do a part a little better. If you're the type who enjoys
building things these kits are great fun and very rewarding to construct!
